24 by Dark Ferret
Excellent slice of life fic that tells a story one frame at a time. (V)

Accidentally Like a Martyr by Molly
Rogue realizes a few things, and learns to let go. Beautiful. (V)

The Adventures of God by Jaya and Poi Lass
Rip-roaringly funny fic about the day God (yes, that God) became an X-Man. (V)

After the Fact by darkstar Logan, Rogue, secrets and sanity, post-X2.

"No one hurts you."

"No one but you, right?"

::shivers::

Like everything by darkstar, the words linger in your mind, the images cut to the quick, you feel the characters' pain as if it were your own, and you believe it will never be any other way than this. Gorgeous. (V)

After the Rain Has Fallen and Paradise Street by Scy
Angel/X-Men crossover. Lindsey. Remy. 'Ro. On the road. Survivors find each other, and obsession sets no limits on its membership. (V)

Alter-Eighteen: A Rougher Ride by Terri
AU that just brings home all the awful things that could have happened to Rogue and how lucky she is to have met up with Logan. This one just gets me right in the gut. (V)

Alter-Eighteen: The Cost of Things by Terri
Oh-so-angsty and good. I cried my way through this one. Logan learns the cost of things, and gets off way too easy, if you ask me. (AU) (V)

Alter-Eighteen: Naked Animal Guy by Terri
This here's a fun AU story. And how can you not love that title? (V)

Alter-Eighteen: Pretending by Terri
Yet again, Terri takes Rogue and Logan, puts them in a new situation, and manages to both keep them true to character and yet find new facets at the same time. Lovely. (V)

Antiochus Wept by Azurine
I don't read much X-fic anymore, and I don't even read the Ultimate books, but every once in a while, I drop by Az's LJ to see if she's got anything new, and hot damn. Charles/Erik at Hanukkah sometime in their past, I guess, and Erik's megalomania is on full display, and Charles is swept up in his madness. The religious imagery is what makes it so chilling, I think. You know I'm a sucker for that. And even though it's Ultimate, it's amazing and shivery to imagine Stewart and McKellen speaking this dialogue. (Ultimateverse) (V)

Before the Rain by eretria
There's a heat wave, and things come to a boil. (V)

Belief's Last Candle by darkstar
A beautiful meditation in verse on Rogue waiting for Logan after the movie (V)

The Best-Laid Plans (Art of War Remix) by Ransom
The original is one of the best things I've written, and I'm completely thrilled with the Logan POV and the way it fleshes out and meshes with the original story. Ransom *nails* Logan's voice - snarky, smart and yet utterly blind to what's going on in front of him. He's just a little delusional, but we love him anyway. (Dude, *of course* I recommend you read the original. But I wrote it, so that would be kinda tacky. Read it anyway. Some of my best work. Plus, Cool!Scott.) (V)

Black Cats and Voudoun Dolls by eoen
Gambit takes Jubilee to a Halloween party. (Comicverse) (V)

Blackout by Jamie
I love this fic. It's got action, it's got romance, and, most importantly, it's got humor. Jamie outlines a relationship between Logan and Rogue that I would pay money to see on-screen. (V)

Blood Remembers by Grym
Starkly beautiful story of trying to survive a loss. Logan deals with Mariko's death and Jubilee tries to help. (Comicverse) (V)

Blues by Jane St Clair
Sweet, sweet Bobby/Beast fic. (V)

Burlesques by RocketJ
Logan finds work in a burlesque house in the years after WWII. Note:You have to click on Original Characters and then scroll down to find the story. (V)

Butterfly Net by MollyTM
Logan lies, and finds the consequences of it are far worse than expected. Sharp, bittersweet *believable* story of how a man like Logan would react to falling in love, and how he just might screw it up completely, simply by being himself. (V)

Catch a Falling Star by Pax
Okay, so I know nothing about Shatterstar, except that he's something called a "Mojoworlder" (I was told "don't ask," so... <g>), but if he's anything like Pax writes him here, hello, nurse. Strong, vulnerable, longing -- nummy. Plus, Kitty Pryde gets to kick ass, and you know that can't be bad. <g> (Comicverse) (NC-17) (V)

Climb the Wind by Minisinoo
An amazing novel about Scott's descent into hell and how he survives. Absolutely a great read. (V)

The Complication of Pretense by Melissa Flores
Sure, everyone's thinking poor Scott and poor Rogue, but they don't know the real story. Lovely piece about falling in love with someone unexpected. (V)

A Conversation on the Rocks by Macha
Hee! Rogue's wearing a bikini, and she's a little tipsy, and Logan definitely does not think of her "that way." Sweet flirty banter with a nice hopeful ending. (V)

Counting Backwards by Molly
Rogue runs, she thinks, stuff happens. She works through each of the major problems in her life, with some help from Logan. Just read it. It's excellent. (V)

Crisp. Clean. White. Red. by Unanon
Ultimate X-Men fic - which isn't really my thing, but damn this story is good. Scarlet Witch thinks about her family problems, and the colors red and white. (NC-17) (V)

Cry No More by Mac Xavier
A lovely, sweet and hot Scott/Bobby story. (V)

Dance, Fearless Leader, Dance by akscully
Scott's journal must be the most-read book in the mansion. This hilarious fic is the first in the Journals series, which continues in Swooning Goddess, Storm's take on the situation between Logan and Rogue, Raging, Narcissistic Telepaths, in which Jean has a few choice words for everyone, and then the latest installment, Never Make a Wookiee Angry, which is Professor Xavier's befuddled take on the romantic entanglements among his teachers and students. There's also To Be a Man, which is an unofficial follow-up to Dance, Fearless Leader, Dance. It's where the "Closer" conga came from, for those who are interested. (V)

Dancing Cranes
This story has been removed from the internet, and the author's name removed at her request. Beautiful, understated, graceful slice of life vignette that captures Logan and Xavier in a quiet moment of remembrance. Plus, the scarf.

Defensive Lines by Molly
Along with Safety in Numbers, one of the first and one of the best I ever read. Sigh. (V)

A Desperate Attempt by Dark Ferret
One of my favorite Logan/Rogue stories -- it makes me weepy every time. Why is Rogue better off with Logan? (Worth plowing through the horrid writing out of Rogue's accent. Or you could copy and paste into Word and do a search and replace on it, which is what I did.) (V)

Dumb Feast by Cherry
Logan feels the full measure of regret at his own blindness to what's in front of him. Poignant and beautiful. (V)

Eighteen by Terri
This links to the first installment of the Eighteen series by Terri. Read 'em all, and then read 'em again. I have. (V)

End of Summer by Macha
The president may have refused to sign the MRA, but things are only getting worse for mutants. It starts when Logan needs help crossing the border, so Rogue gives him a lift. Thoroughly enjoyable L/R banter, plus real live plot! And the spa glove. The spa glove is *key*. (V)

The Evolution of Jubilee by Mara Greengrass
Lovely story of how Jubilee learns how the world works, and that one person *can* make a difference. (V)

Exceptions by jenn
An absolutely gorgeous piece of writing in which the extraordinary is suddenly normal, and the inevitable finally makes itself known to Logan. (V)

First, Do No Harm by Poi Lass (Comicverse)
Bobby and Beast, emailing about things that have happened that can't be changed. Sad and sweet and very true-to-character. (V)

The First and Last Places by Jintian
Rogue finds strength in the last place she ever expected. (V)

First Night by Melissa Flores
The Angel Investigations crew meets the X-Men. It's the end of the world as we know it. <g> (Angel/X-Men crossover, written before "Birthday") (V)

Fog in the Forest by Norma Graham and Mitch Kelly
Hot! Hot! Hot! Storm/Logan fic. Technically comicverse, but could be movie, I guess. Some writing issues, but still, hotness.(NC-17) (V)

For the Good Times by Donna Bevan
Lovely, lovely fic about misunderstandings, and how they can hurt, and how they can be fixed. (V)

Four Ways of Coming Out of the Cold by penknife
Four things that may or may not have happened to Ororo Munroe - four scenarios in which she and Xavier meet. Sharp, clear prose, intriguing possibilities and the last one will send a chill down your spine. (V)

Fragile Bodies of Touch and Taste by Jane St Clair
Gorgeous Xavier/Erik slash. Jane's writing never fails to move me and make me gnash my teeth with envy. (V)

Freeze Out by zahra
Bobby. Johnny. Thoughts. There's now a ton of Bobby/Johnny fic out there, thanks to X2, but this one has stuck with me, because of this, specifically: "You froze my fire. I can't believe you froze my fucking fire." "Believe it."

::shivers::

Bobby, growing up. (V)

Gifts by Tev Ye
Wise Rogue, riding the line between adolescence and adulthood, gives Logan some good advice. Love this version of them - the quiet understanding and strength, and the unspoken possibility of the future. X2 spoilers. (V)

Gingko by Pepper
Beautifully done fic wherein Logan finally meets Death (the Terry Pratchett variety). Sequel to my own As I Lay Dying, in which Rogue shuffles off this mortal coil (featuring a cameo by Death, the Neil Gaiman variety). (V)

The Glass King by Unanon
Put the master of metal in a plastic cage and watch how he reacts. Incisive, shivery goodness that gets right inside Magneto's head. (V)

The Godless Among Us by Dyce-Elihara
Fab fic about a young mutant girl who escapes from a lab, and all the lives she impacts. Annie is the best OC I've come across in the fandom, I think. Then the story continues in Slavery, Deliverance and Faith as Annie, Clarice and Rogue are kidnapped and a very odd couple is determined to bring them home. (V)

Guiding Light by Jyorraku
A beautiful, sniffly fic where Marie has a wish come true. (V)

His Voice by Addie Logan
Brief meditation on the Logan in Rogue's head - short, but packs a mean wallop. (Corrected URL) (V)

How to Make Two Lovers from Friends by Dandelion (Comicverse)
Logan finds himself unexpectedly drawn to a teammate. Love Logan's voice in this one. (V)

Hunting by Sorcieré
Dark, but plausible -- so how will Logan guarantee Rogue forever? (V)

Ibbur (The If You Don't Know Me By Now Remix) by Andraste
So what if the person who survived on the Statue of Liberty wasn't exactly Rogue? Sad, slightly creepy Magneto-in-Rogue's-head POV as he learns to deal with being a seventeen-year-old girl and hide his presence from Xavier, who probably ought to realize they brought a viper into the nest.

Ignoring the Obvious by Scattered Logic
Logan's not dumb, he's just pretending he doesn't notice, because things are easier that way. I like this take on the reasons Logan would ignore Rogue's feelings and I like Rogue's response - it feels real and true to character. And it's sweet and funny and hits all the right buttons for me. (V)

Imaging the X-Men by Jane St Clair
It's art, it's fic, it's amazingly beautiful -- Jane manages to capture the characters with found photographs. (Note: There are several photographs which feature full-frontal nudity.) (V)

In a Thousand Miles by jenn
I can't tell you how many times I've read this fic. It's breathtaking and beautiful and just... right. (V)

In Alaska by Katherine
Rogue goes away to prove she can make it on her own. She and Logan both learn to that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Subtle, in character, and well-done. (V)

Into the Light by Sare Liz
I can't even begin to describe how beautiful this fic is. It's the second in the Viscosity Series, and it's an amazing piece of writing. Read it. You'll thank me for pointing you to it, and you'll thank Sare for writing it. (V)

It's Too %&^$# Hot in Here! By Desert Nomad (Comicverse)
X-Force is bored and looking for their Slip'n'Slide. A total pisser. (V)

Just About Sex by Minisinoo
Dark fic about a hooker and a john. To say more would be to spoil. Fabulously well-written, as all Min's stuff is. (V)

The Keeping of the Three by Ransom
I really liked this - the weaving of past with present, the way the present evokes memories, and that Logan would hold on to those memories so hard... exquisitely sad. (V)

La Brea by Kate Elizabeth
What if Logan wasn't the first? This is a lovely fic about Rogue learning about love. (PG, Slash) (V)

The Lab by Ramos
An amazing fic that takes a look at what life might have been like if Rogue had been with Logan in the lab. (V)

Last Season by Akazukin Elle
Bobby thinks about a lot of stuff, like how it's wrong for him to be shagging St. John while he's dating Rogue, and how his parents would respond to a mutant son, and even worse (in their oh-so-conservative eyes), a gay mutant son. This is a sweet, lovable Bobby and this POV feels right. (V)

Laundry Day by Cygnet
You meet a man in a bar. There's something about him that screams "sex." You take him home... Steamy fic about your one-night stand with Logan. (V)

Lazarus Undone by darkstar
An amazing poem about Logan, learning what it means to be too late. All her stuff is great, but I think this one is my favorite. Or maybe Nox Noctis. (V)

Lemons & Laundry by Bisouretro
The rare Rogue/Logan Evolution-verse fic that actually works. Ends a little abruptly, but nice characterization. (Archived at Fanfiction.net) (V)

Lessons on the Side by Nancy Lorenz
It's fic, it's art, it's amazing. Go read it. (V)

Letters and Papers from Prison by Minisinoo
A beautiful exploration of Rogue, and how she deals with one of the men in her head. (V)

Life Less Static by Molly
Probably my second favorite L/R fic. Logan comes home and realizes a few things. I love this fic. (V)

Linen and the Wind by Eternity
This fic hit me right in the gut when I read it, it's so beautiful and so good at evoking the pain Rogue is feeling. (V)

A Little More Than Intimate by jenn
Love the realism of the L/R relationship here -- all the little steps Logan takes to show he's really serious -- just a beautiful, low-key love story. (V)

Living Ever After by Elizabeth
Lovely look at what Rogue's life might be like. I was teary-eyed the whole way through. A stunning fic. (V)

The Magic of Belief by Elizabeth
Another beautifully realized story about what, exactly, Logan believes, and why. (V)

Skinny dipping with Logan and Ororo - very hot. Yay! - Storm finally gets some action!(NC-17) (V)

Nights Like These by Adrianna Pita
A lushly sensuous vignette detailing the unbreakable bond between Wolverine and Rogue. Archived on Fanfiction.net (V)

A lovely, poignant fic in which two people who can't have the one they love, love the one they're with (Wolverine/Domino, NC-17) (V)

Not Quite Domestic by Diebin
Logan and Rogue, doing the living together thing so perfectly. (V)

Beautiful poem about love and those who are willing to suffer for it. (V)

On Bluffing and Its Consequences by jenn
Foofy, smutty fun with Logan and Rogue. (NC-17) (V)

On Love and Lust at Mutant High by jenn
Okay, a very long series about St. John, Bobby, Rogue, Logan etc. that just rocks my world. It's a real page-turner, folks. (Slash, St. John/Bobby) (V)

On Milkshakes and Marie by Diebin
Smutty, fluffy fun with Logan and Marie. (V)

The Opposite of Sibling Rivalry and The Nightmare Fighter by Troll Princess
Bobby isn't the only mutant in his family. Two lovely stories from Ronny's POV, exploring this otherwise plot-device-ish character and making him human. X2 spoilers (V)

Osae Waza by Macha
Logan helps Rogue break in her uniform. Hot, humorous UST that is soon-to-be-RST, if Rogue has anything to say about it. (V)

Perfect Ring of Scars by Shana Nolen
Possibly the first, and likely the best of the L/R/S/J fics out there. An amazing angst-fest that will have you pulling your hair out and sniffling in your Kleenex. (V)

Perseus, Still by Janete [Jane St Clair and Te]
Amazing Jono/Angelo slash. I know a miniscule amount about Chamber, and even less about Skin, but this story is ... damn... it's hot. (NC-17, Slash) (V)

Poison Ivy by Diana
An amazing story dealing with the ever-popular Jean/Scott/Rogue/Logan situation -- darkly beautiful. (V)

The Price by Paxnirvana (Comicverse)
A great Havok/Fallen slash piece. Shivery goodness here. (However, it's in hellacious red-on-black, so I'd recommend copying and pasting into Word or something to read it easily) (V)

Oh, the beauty, the lovely truth of this fic -- Rogue's first time in all its awkward splendor... (V)

Real World: Anchorage by Dawn L. Bobby and Lea Downie (Comicverse)
Seven mutants brought together to live in one house in the middle of nowhere. What happens when people get real, and stop being polite? Much fun is had. Except by Havok. Poor guy. Note: You need to click on the authors' names to get to the story. (V)

Return to Sender by Diebin
It's short, but it packs a mean wallop. Logan goes to the post office. Continued nicely in Will You Accept the Charges? by Donna Bevan. (V)

Road Trippin' by Kate Bolin
Rogue and Bobby go to Alaska, in search of Logan. It's fun! (V)

Safety in Numbers by Elizabeth
This is still my favorite Logan/Rogue story, I think. It's what got me started on this whole fanfic addiction in the first place. Beautifully written, amazingly true to the characters, it still makes me weepy, no matter how many times I read it, and I've read it many times. (V)

Save the Last Dance for Me by darkstar
Oh. My. God. This story is so good it makes me hyperventilate. Logan and Rogue, memory-wiped and set loose in a post Mutant-Registration-Act world. Somehow they find each other again. If you don't cry, you must have a heart of stone. (Except Dot. She rarely gets sniffly, so she's exempt from this.) (V)

Slipping In Between by Natalie
Beautifully written, and so sad. Wolverine meets someone from his past. (V)

Sometimes It Ain't Enough by Addie Logan
Oh, the angst, the pain. Rogue tries to live, with and without Logan. Not happily ever after, in the end, it's *right*. (V)

Soul Cages by Andariel
A beautifully written, absolutely heartbreaking fic that begins on the Statue of Liberty and goes somewhere a little different than the movie. (unfinished) (V)

Stuck in My Mind by TaleWeaver
Post-X2, Rogue and the men in her head. Lovely, and a new slant - Rogue/John UST. I love the description of the vestiges of each man, especially Magneto. (V)

A Touch by Kate Elizabeth
Lovely vignette in which Scott teaches Rogue fencing, and Rogue teaches Scott something else. (V)

Touch and Go by Ransom.
Pure porny Logan/Rogue goodness. There's some light bondage, free-flowing snark, and oh yes, hot, hot, hot smut.

Touch Me, Kill Me by Satya Graha
Logan dead letter fic that hits where it hurts. (V)

Tulsa by Ransom
Logan's got a lesson to learn, and Rogue sends him off to learn it. I love the wistful tone and spare writing of this story, and the way Rogue does what she needs to do to make both of them happy, or, rather, to make Logan realize what they both need to be happy. (V)

Tupelo Honey by Ransom
Logan and Rogue picnic and discuss their relationship. Tender, evocative, lovely story. Plus, named after one of my favorite Van Morrison songs, which can't be bad. (V)

Turn by Sandra
Lovely fic that charts a course through Rogue's post-absorption mind. Archived at Fanfiction.Net (V)

The Twist Inside by Allykat (Comicverse)

Use Me by Dianna
One of the most amazing, heartbreaking, angsty L/R fics out there. But the story continues in Almost Dead, Interlude: Raining Inside, and comes to a beautiful conclusion in Everything. Read it and weep. (Note: with new URL) (V)

Two Solitudes by Elizabeth
Honestly, I try not to rec WIPs, especially when there's really no expectation of them being finished, but this is such a good AU L/R fic, that I couldn't resist. I love this Logan muchly. (Unfinished) (V)

Watercolors by Donna Bevan
A wonderful story that seemed totally real and so true to Logan and Rogue that I had to read it a few times, just to marvel at it. (V)

Weakness by Diebin
Okay, first, let's take a moment to squee over Die's return to writing L/R. Second, let's take a moment to squee over the scene she writes about here (the infamous Temptation of Wolverine scene - 'ware spoilers for X2). And then let's squee over the accuracy of her Logan-voice. Personally, I'd have loved to see this version of the scene onscreen. (V)

Weak Spots by Miracleman
No shippiness here, but a lovely look at the Rogue/Logan relationship as it was painted in the movie (if you ignore the subtext *g*). (V)

Welcome to Genosha by Ramos
Excellent X-Men action-adventure fic, with the younger team going to rescue Logan from a resort that isn't all it seems, with a little Logan/Rogue lovin' thrown in. (V)

...With Marie by Terri
The index to all the stories in this lovely, foofy series. My favorite is "Making Babies With Marie" but that could just be because I've just become an aunt again. <g> (V)

You Can Sleep While I Drive by Terri
Wonderful fic with Rogue finally asking Logan what the deal is between them. (V)

Your Life Has Just Begun by Catlin O'Connor
A lovely tale that is not at all what it seems, at first. Read it and you'll see. (V)

Zero Plus One by Azurine
Logan and Bobby help each other deal with stuff. Beautiful look at how the bonds of friendship are forged and how a badass loner with no past and a fifteen year old kid can find common ground and care about each other. Just a fantastic fic, that made me cry for both of them. God, I love this story. Gen. Ultimate. (V)
