X-Men Stories

Once again, it's all Vic's fault. Not the fact that I like the X-Men. No, I come by that naturally. I got into the comics in the mid-80's, I guess it was. Good stuff, and when I started grabbing the back issues, those were even better. I stopped reading them in the early 90's, when it just got too dumb for even me to handle anymore. I still considered myself a fan, of course, and I'd pull out the old comics and read them again every once in awhile. But for all intents and purposes, my association with the X-Men was pretty much at an end.

Then came the movie. I was surprised at how much I liked it. They changed some stuff that in my opinion didn't need changing, but they kept the feel of the comics stories, and that's a pretty amazing thing for a comic book movie to manage. So chalk me up as pleasantly surprised and leave it at that.

This is where Vic comes in. She loves the movie. She's a die-hard Wolverine/Rogue shipper, and she writes some damned good stories about them. You can read them on her page, The Muses Fool. Somehow, she managed to get me to write a Logan/Marie story of my own. I showed her, though - I mushed the hell out of it, as I am wont to do. The story went over pretty well with the X-fic fans, and I surprised myself by writing another one, with a very different tone. Now I'm thinking about at least one more. Funny how the stories grab ahold of you and don't let go.

Needless to say, I blame Vic.

Also needless to say, I don't own these characters. And I'm not trying to make money here.
