Want Of A Sheet
********************
Buffy the Vampire Slayer was one of my favorite TV shows. Still is. It's got great characters, humor, and vampires who are the bad guys instead of misunderstood mamby-pamby good guys. Well, it used to, at least. I can't say I cared too much for the last couple years of the show. But who cares about that, right? One of the best things about fanfic is that we don't have to accept the crap that's on the screen as the only way the stories can go. All along I've been writing to the beat of my own drummer, and just because the show's over I don't intend to stop anytime soon. Viva la fanfic!!
Anyway, here's the stories I've finished so far, more or less in internal chronological order. Like you care.
I should mention that I don' t own the rights to any of these characters. That honor belongs to Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy, Warner Brothers, Fox and I'm sure plenty of others I'm not aware of. They're not mine, I'm just playing with 'em 'cause they're so darned cool. No infringement of copyright is intended, and I'm not trying to make any money off of them. I do own the stories themselves, of course, and everything else I've created on these pages. Whoopee. And I definitely own the rights to the phrase "wiry like the mighty gazelle" and I'll kill to protect it!
Before I get to my own stories, allow me to direct you to my
Links page, where you can
find more cool stories than you could shake a stick at. Not that shaking a stick
at a story is likely to do you any good, you realize. Anyway, on to my stories...
Just to make things even more confusing, there's two types of stand-alone stories. The first set pretty much fit within the confines of the show as we've seen it. Not perfectly, maybe, but there aren't any outright contradictions, either. All of these build off of each other, so events from one story might be mentioned later on in an otherwise unrelated story. That's called continuity, folks, and I learned it the hard way - by trying to keep track of DC and Marvel comics history when I was a kid. Believe me, this stuff is simple compared to what Beige Kryptonite does to Superman this week, or how old Franklin Richards is.
Anyway, the stories listed under this here note are the ones where I tried not to change the Buffy-verse history too much.
Summary: Giles asks Xander a question.
Rating: PG, if that.
Timeline: Fairly early in season one.
Spoilers: Welcome To The Hellmouth/The Harvest
Dedication: To Melissa. She's my reason why.
Summary: I don't think I can come up with
one. Dumb fluff.
Rating: PG?
Timeline: I'm gonna say first season. Just 'cause.
Spoilers: None.
Dedication: To Jen, Dot, Vic and Meg for putting up with me. To Traci
and Tim for doing the chickenman thing with me every damned day.
NOTE: This one won't make much sense unless you know the Springsteen song "Atlantic City." I'll put the lyrics at the end. Mind you, I make no guarantee it'll make sense even if you do know the song.
Just Out Of Reach 6/26/03

the first time Xander tried to ask Buffy out?

fits right in with the gazelles.
The First Annual Brownie
Bake-Off And Rootin'-Tootin' Jamboree
I was tickled pink to win this, and especially by the nice things everyone said at the chat ceremony, but to be honest I never thought of it as much of a humor story! But hell, what do I know, right? Personally, I voted for Nikki's As The Hellmouth Turns, which is absolutely hilarious. Go read it, right now. Read it twice.
Summary: A
batch of brownies leads to a trip down memory lane. Joyce's point of view.
Rating: PG
Timeline: Third season, right after Dead Man's Party.
Spoilers: Becoming 1 and 2, Dead Man's Party.
Dedication: To my mom, even if she did hide the brownie
batter .
Touching Willow
Part 1 Part 2
Part 3

These puppies felt pretty darn good to win, believe me. Again, though, in a way it feels weird. After reading Part 3, I think you'll agree that this is very much a Willow/Xander story. Don't tell anyone though, or they'll take 'em away!

point of view.
Rating: PG-13? I'm no good at this. Some swearing, some angst, you figure
it out.

Spoilers: The Fluke and the Lover's Walk aftermath.
Dedication: To my friends - if I lost them I'd be a basket
case too.
Summary: Xander contemplates
life without Willow. Sequel to Touching Willow.
Rating: PG-13
Timeline: Third season, post Fluke.
Spoilers: General spoilers about the Fluke.
Summary: Willow contemplates
life without Xander. Sequel to Touching Willow and Purgatory.

Xander fix their friendship. Sequel to Touching Willow, Purgatory and Denial.

Timeline: Third season, shortly after The Zeppo.
Spoilers: Minor spoilers for Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered.
Dedication: To Jen, Dot, Meg and Vic, for beta-ing for me and for putting
up with my need to write mush. And to Ernestine, for beta-ing my first draft
lo those many months ago, and for suggesting The Scarlet Pimpernel. Great book,
go read it.

a game of You Don't Know. Angst ensues.
Rating: PG-ish, nothing bad.

but I'm not sure I believe it.
Dedication: To my beta-beauties, as always. Special thanks to Vic for
suggesting the song.
Alternate Universe Stand-Alone Stories
These are the stories where I mucked around with the history of the show. What can I say, just because the professionals apparently don't want Xander and Willow to get together doesn't mean they shouldn't have gotten together by Christmas of season one. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! I've also put all the future-fics in here, even though they technically haven't violated the show's continuity yet.
Summary: Willow's meddling with magic has unforseen consequences.
Rating: Call it PG-13, for romance novel-ish descriptions of sexual situations.
Timeline: After Graduation Day, during the summer before season four.
Spoilers: Nothing too specific, but it assumes you know about the Fluke
and Angel leaving.
Dedication: To Melissa, Dot, Vic, Meg and Jen.
Summary: Xander tries to make things up to Oz.
Rating: NC-17 for explicit sex between two guys.
Timeline: Third season, after Lover's Walk.

better.

show after season four.
Spoilers: None, I don't think anyway.

a guy could ask for!
Knight In Shining Armor
Part
One Part Two
Summary: Willow's convinced Xander couldn't
possibly love her.
Rating: PG, PG-13
Timeline: Sometime in the not too distant future. Next Sunday, AD. Definitely
an AU from the show, more's the pity.

them?

over.

4 Part
5 Part
6 Part
7 Part 8 Part 9
"Good lord. This story is so unbearably, unutterably
*sweet* my teeth ache just from reading it." - My friend Ernestine, who
wouldn't be complaining even a little bit if this were a Willow/Xander story.

Melissa over at The Library awarded these babies to me. Cool, that's what I say.
Summary: Buffy discovers she has feelings
for Xander.
Rating: Call it PG-13. I guess.
Timeline: Buffy's sophomore year of college. Doesn't follow the show
after season four.
Spoilers: A few mentions of stuff from season 1-3 episodes, but nothing
major.
Dedication: First and foremost, to Nikki, because her masterful use of
the term Xanderlovin' in As
The Hellmouth Turns is what made me think of
this story. Y'all notice I've plugged that particular story twice now? That's
a hint, folks. Go read it.
Also, special thanks to my crack squad of beta-readers for this one. Not a one of 'em is crazy about getting Buffy and Xander together, but they helped me out anyway. Specific thanks to Vic for giving me the title. I hate coming up with titles.

Spoilers: Very minor spoilers for the end of season four, at worst.
Dedication: To Melissa. And to Meg, Jen, Vic and Dot, who don't like
this particular pairing all that much, but who put up with me anyway.
Summary: There are lots of things Tara's
never done.
Rating: NC-17, which I guess is a spoiler. But if you don't see it a
mile away, you need glasses.
Timeline: Doesn't matter.
Spoilers: None.
Dedication: To my beautiful bevy of betas.
Tell The World
"... pure, unmitigated, tooth-endangering
sweetness." - Ernestine again, happier 'cause it's Willow and Xander in
this one.

I won me some awards, yes I did! Got these two from the Vixen Fan-Fiction Awards. Don't tell no one over that way that Dru and Spike aren't part of the story, okay? I don't want them to come repossess these things.

Timeline: First season sometime, I guess.
Spoilers: I want to say none. No intentional or big spoilers,
anyway.
Dedication: To Jen, Dot, Meg and Vic for putting up with me.
These need some explaining, I think. Meg started it by writing some really weird, really good stories about various members of the Buffy and Angel crew interacting with people you wouldn't expect to see in Buffy or Angel fanfiction. Then I got into the act, and Vic did one or two, and other people joined in, and it was a lot of fun. You can read them all at the
These are my humble contributions to the series.

Andrew 6/7/03
This one started out as a one-shot futurefic. Also a songfic. And a mushfic. And a few other things, I'm sure. Then Meg wrote a sequel that was actually a prequel, and I decided I wanted to write another story, and now I'm thinking of a whole bunch more stories I want to write. Such is the life of a writer, I guess.

Basically, what we have here are three stories about Cordelia, Willow and Buffy leaving Sunnydale. And Xander's there for all three of 'em. They were all inspired by the song "Thunder Road" by Bruce Springsteen, and the titles are all lyrics from that song. That's probably all you need to know about this series, but if you want to read my ramblings on it, click here.

This is another series that started out as a one-shot. Jen wanted angst, so I wrote Promises for her. Then I got to thinking about what would happen afterwards, so I wrote Mirror Image. Now I'm thinking about writing at least one more story set a little while later. We'll see.
