Pete's Got A Web Page! Run For The Hills!!

Greetings! My name's Pete, and this here's my web page! Ain't she a beaut?! Oh sure, it's not much to look at now, but just you
wait! I figure I'll knock out that wall over there, put up some nice curtains, maybe even splurge and get that velvet painting of Randy "Macho Man" Savage I've had my eye on! Heck, maybe one of these days I'll even decide to end a sentence with a period! Wouldn't that be something?!

Okay, now that I've gotten the obligatory dumb opening paragraph out of the way, it's time to move on to the Let's Learn About Peter portion of the page.

Let's Learn About Peter!

The very first thing I think you should know is that I didn't make up the Macho Man velvet painting. I saw one at a roadside sale about eight years ago, and I didn't buy it! That's a mistake I'll rue to my dying day, so if anyone out there knows where I could get my hands on such a treasure please let me know. Okay, now on to the less important stuff. My name is Peter Meilinger, I'm 33 years old, God help me, and I'm not about to post a picture of myself. Oh all right, if you really want to see a picture of me you can vent your masochistic tendencies by clicking here. Happy now? Oh quit clawing at your eyeballs, ya big baby! It wasn't that bad. Can we just get back on track here? Okay? Anyway, I work at the Educational Resources Library at Boston University, and if you actually click on those links you need a life even worse than I do. They tell me I'm the Library Coordinator, whatever that means. Basically I argue with the work study students and clean up after our annual floods. I generally have more luck with the floods than the students - the university won't let me beat them for some strange reason, so they run amok and mock me and everything I stand for. Amok mocking, that's what my life has descended to. Sigh.

When I'm not working (maybe I should say when I'm not at work) I tend to read a lot, mainly science fiction and comic books. I'm also addicted to various role playing games and certain TV shows that shall remain nameless at this time. More on those later.

That's about all there is to know. Which is just sad, if you think about it. So I try not to think about it.

Stuff To Do On My Page

Right now, there's not much. I do have a few other pages, though, some done and some still in the works:

Quilting - Both my mother and my best friend Amy quilt, and they've made some pretty cool stuff. I've set up a page to showcase some of their quilts and to give some information to dispel the cloud of mystery that hangs around the both of them.

Stories Updated 11/25/03 - I've written a few stories, and I'll be writing more as time goes by. You can find them here. They're all weird in some way or another, but what do you care? They're free! And hey, some of 'em have actually won awards. Who'da thunk?!

How To Be Manly - This is going to be sort of a how-to guide on the fine art of manliness. I want to take my time and get it right though, because I just know I'm gonna get yelled at once this puppy hits the streets.

Update 1/2/02 - The Manliness Primer is coming. No, really!

Update 7/19/02 - Okay, fine. I'm lying. Sue me.

Update 5/9/03 - But wait! Here's something to tide you over until I get my lazy ass in gear. I didn't write this one, but I agree with most of it. Specifically, I agree with the parts that won't cause Melissa to kick my ass. Click here for The Code For Men.

Embarassing Photos - Not embarassing for me, you understand. This is my page. If you want to embarass me, get your own damn page. I wasn't going to do anything with this page until I got a bunch of pictures together, but my friend Laura forced my hand. She and my friend Amy are the only ones represented so far, which I'm sure makes them feel special. Or not.

That's pretty much it for the site right now. I'll be adding more as the mood strikes me. Stop by again soon and hopefully I'll have more to offer.

If, for some unknown and probably unknowable reason, you decide you want to email me click below. You know how it works.
