Summary: Remus wouldn’t say he was in love.

Notes: first line from thepiratequeen.

Date: October 9, 2004

He wouldn't say he was in love. He thought it, and he felt it, and sometimes he bit his lip to keep the words from tumbling out. But he wouldn't say it.

Because he was sure Sirius didn't want to hear it. It wasn't something blokes did, fall in love with other blokes, even if they were fucking, unless they were shirtlifters. And while Remus was fairly certain he himself was queer, he didn't think Sirius was, because as far as he knew, Sirius had never even looked at another man, and had certainly never brought one home.

Of course, he couldn't remember the last time Sirius had brought a woman home, either, but that didn't mean anything. They were all so busy with other things -- the Order, James and Lily's wedding...

Sirius stirred in his sleep, eyes fluttering open. "Mmm, Moony. What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Why are you sitting there staring at me? Mooning. Mooning Moony." Sirius went off into peals of laughter at this, so Remus hit him with a pillow.

"Go back to sleep, you git."

Sirius lifted the blankets in invitation. "Why don't you stay in here tonight?"

Remus slipped into the warm bed and Sirius snuggled in close, falling asleep again almost immediately.

No, he wouldn't say he was in love. But maybe someday he would.
