Severus paced the corridor, muttering to himself. Dumbledore's blatant disregard for the danger Lupin and Black posed to other students was criminal.

He turned, seeing a door where none had been before. He pushed it open, always curious, and realized the castle cared for him, even if its headmaster did not.

The door closed behind him, locks clicking and bars sliding into place.

He ran loving hands over a set of silver daggers, surreptitiously pocketing one. He breathed in the fresh fragrance of wolfsbane and smiled.

He wouldn't need Potter to save him again. The wolf couldn't hurt him here.
