The wool of his jumper is soft, familiar, against her damp palms. Her eyes flutter closed; the world narrows to the sound of their mingled breathing.

His lips glide over hers, teasing, and she opens her mouth. The rough-smooth slide of his tongue against hers makes her knees weak; she will forever associate the taste of toffee, the scent of pine, with him. No mere mistletoe kiss, all that come after will be compared with this one.

"Hermione." The bright flame of his hair is the first thing she sees when she opens her eyes again.

"Percy," she whispers, shocked.
