Summary: Sirius is naked. McGonagall isn’t pleased.

Date: October 7, 2004

He was in trouble. He knew it, and he kept talking anyway. Sirius seemed to believe that if he just talked for long enough, he’d eventually hit on a believable explanation or excuse, and McGonagall would not saddle them with detention.

“And then the lights went out and when they came back on, my clothes were missing,” he finished, flinching against the cold breeze wafting against his skin as the castle ghosts came to see what the ruckus was. “I don’t know how it happened, but I suspect it was the Slytherins.”

“I see,” McGongall said dryly, her eyes assessing him with a frightening combination of amusement and clinical detachment. “And what is Lupin’s excuse for being naked in the corridors?”

“I was visiting the Squid,” Remus said quickly, and Sirius nearly groaned out loud at the lameness of this explanation.

“Ten points from Gryffindor for public nudity,” she said, lips twitching. “And if I see such a display again, you’ll have detention with me.” She turned to go, stopped, and looked at them over her shoulder, a wicked gleam in her eyes. “In the nude.”

Sirius had nightmares about it for weeks.
