Summary: Someone's got a crush

She flows like water through the world. She changes everything she touches, yet she is untouchable. And everything that touches her is absorbed, integrated wholly into her, and so it becomes her.

She cannot be captured; her moods change like the tide -- soft and ebbing, unsure of herself in the adult world she has so recently entered; then fierce and strong, confident in all that she has learned from those whose souls she has touched.

Yes, of all the telepaths and psychics we have run across, she is the only one who can claim to have touched souls -- Magneto's, Logan's, even mine, though I have not yet been privileged with her embrace.

It surprises even me that I should feel these stirrings in my heart, and yes, in my body, for a girl at least ten years my junior. I know I cannot have her. Her heart belongs to Logan -- if she is water, he is her rock. She has changed him far more than he could ever change her.

The boys clamor for her attention, but Bobby would freeze her, trying to hold and protect her from the evil in this world. John would leave her insubstantial, his fiery passion leaving nothing but mist, a fragile wraith, when he was done.

I, however, command the wind and rain. I am water, air, earth and fire, and with me, she could be wild and yet soft; driven, fulfilled, and then placid.

But I put aside my longing for what I cannot have. I am a teacher, and she, a student. I will strive to touch her mind, since I cannot touch her body.

I hope that it is enough for me, but I know that it is not.

Love, like water, flows through this world, changing everything it touches, and she has changed me, because I love her.
