Notes: written for maeglinyedi, who requested "Crowley, Aziraphale, astonishment." This is the second Good Omens fic I've written.

Date: March 8, 2004

Aziraphale is heavier than he looks, Crowley thinks, hauling the angel out of his chair and over to the couch.

Aziraphale is rather drunk and, to Crowley's astonishment, very affectionate.

He presses himself against Crowley, almost overbalancing them on the way to the sofa, and the only way Crowley can compensate is by pressing back, which causes rather interesting sensations in regions he never thought angels had much interest in.

A vague notion occurs to him that they could instantly sober up, but that would be a waste of a good 1994 Paloma merlot, so they stumble along, the twenty feet between the objects of furniture feeling like twenty miles as the angel gropes him and then mumbles half-hearted apologies.

In a drunken mockery of a tango, they finally reach the sofa, dropping down onto it together in a tangle of hands and feet and... lips?

Crowley has shared many a kiss during many a drunken revel, but there's a gentleness to this one that's most appealing. And the idea of corrupting Aziraphale's innocence is not only pleasing on a personal level, but on a professional one, as well, the kind of thing which would continue to assure him the autonomy he's taken for granted the past few millennia.

Crowley breaks the kiss and shifts slightly so he will be on top when the time comes. He leans in to kiss Aziraphale again, only to have the angel snore in his face.

He sighs, and tells himself his disappointment is simply over the fact that Aziraphale has unwittingly thwarted his wiles.

But he makes a note to keep a few bottles of the 1994 Paloma on hand in the future.
