Summary: Lily plays Chopin.

Date: November 2, 2003

Finding the piano made Lily's first few months at Hogwarts bearable. After classes that made her feel ignorant, it was a relief to sneak off to play. It was her secret refuge.

Now she lost herself in Chopin, the tension in her shoulders melting under the soothing notes.

Even the click of the door opening and closing couldn't break her concentration. When she was done, she turned to see Severus Snape leaning against the wall, his habitual sneer replaced by a look of wonder.

"It's Muggle magic," she said.

Every day he returned to listen; they never spoke of it.
