The hands on her body are gentle. They know how to touch her, how to soothe in one motion, and incite passion the next.

A long finger traces her lips; she darts her tongue out, tastes the salt tang of his skin. She wants more, wants to lick every inch of him she can, wants to know if his mouth is as sweet as the sugar quills he loves, if his freckles taste like sun and grass or starlight over water.

She opens to his kiss, drowning in it.

"Ron."

Hermione wakes with a start, face burning in the darkness.
