Charlie closed the door with a quiet click and made sure it was locked before he leaned against it, sagging in relief, heart beating wildly.

Remus looked up from the scrolls scattered on his desk, one eyebrow raised. "Trouble?"

"I'm supposed to be in Romania, but Mum saw me in the hallway."

Remus stilled, and Charlie moved toward him, the excitement of almost being caught ratcheting up the tension in him until he felt ready to burst if he didn't get his hands on Remus as soon as he could.

"Your mother is--"

"A busybody who sticks her nose where it doesn't belong," Charlie said, but with affection, because she was Mum and he loved her, even if she was a bit mad. He knew he would have to tell her about him and Remus eventually, but for now he preferred to keep it a secret. It was more exciting that way.

He reached out a hand and plucked Remus's glasses from his face, laying them gently on the desk. He slipped to his knees between Remus's thighs, and studied his face closely, glad to see the soft flush of desire rising beneath the pale skin of his cheeks.

"I was just going to say, making roast chicken for dinner and I know how much you love--"

Charlie cut him off with a kiss, eager for the sweet-hot taste of his mouth, his breath.

"Or we could just skip dinner," Remus continued when Charlie began kissing his jaw and neck, hands already unbuttoning his shirt.

"Works for me," Charlie agreed, and climbed into his lap to resume their snogging. He'd rather have Remus than roast chicken any day.
