The first thing Remus thinks when Sirius kisses him is, Oh. Yes. I remember this.

Even after thirteen years and myriad changes in both of them, Sirius still tastes the same.

The second thing Remus thinks when Sirius kisses him is, Thank God for tooth-flossing stringmints, because he remembers what Sirius smelled like in the Shack last June, and he's not sure even true love covers kissing someone who hasn't brushed his teeth in thirteen years.

Of course, he's also not sure he believes in true love anymore, or that that's what he and Sirius had or have, but that thought never fully materializes, as Sirius's hands thread through his hair and Sirius's tongue moves over his with a fierce determination that sends heat skittering along Remus's veins before it pools in his groin, and the ability to think coherently is overwhelmed by sensation.

Remus is not normally fond of having his mind overthrown by his body -- once a month is quite enough, and luckily Snape still provides the Wolfsbane, so it's not the way it once was -- but he doesn't mind so much when it's Sirius, especially not now, because he thought he'd never feel this again -- the heat and strength of Sirius, even too-thin and desperate -- pressed up against him. And now that he has it again, he doesn't care much what it costs to keep, though he's sure it will end up costing more than he can afford. Loving Sirius has always been dear, in more ways than one.

Sirius's mouth is hot and wet, his body thin and hard and urgent against his, and Remus pushes back with tongue and hips as his hands pull Sirius closer, so close he can feel the beat of Sirius's heart as if it's in his own chest, his lungs expand with the air Sirius breathes, and he is made whole in a way he thought he never would be again.

When Sirius breaks the kiss with a soft, wet smacking sound, Remus growls and pulls him close again, not ready for it to end. Sirius laughs against his lips.

The fourth thing Remus thinks when he kisses Sirius is that it's worth it, and always has been.
