Summary: Andromeda makes a choice.

It is easy to be with Ted. It sounds insane, Andromeda knows, given all the complications her relationship with him has caused, but it is so easy to sit with him in the library and study, or to walk through Hogsmeade, chatting about music and books. There is no pressure, because even after six years at Hogwarts, even after meeting her sisters, he has no understanding of what it means to be a Black. And when she's with him, she can forget about it, too.

The first time he kisses her, it's a shock. She's been kissed before, but never by someone who laughed against her lips, who breathed her name as if it were the secret of the philosopher's stone. He leans in, eyes lit with joy at being alive, and presses his lips to hers, cool in the early spring air and sticky-sweet from the sugar quill he's been sucking on. She gasps at the spark between them, warmth flooding her body, and twines her hair in his short, brown hair.

When the time comes, when she is forced to make a choice, it's so easy as to not even be a choice. She leaves everything behind when he asks her to marry him, and resolves that their children will never be afraid, or ashamed, of the family she and Ted create.
