Date: July 12, 2001

It sparkles. She can look at it for hours, watching it catch the sunlight, splashing rainbows on the walls.

She knows she's not supposed to be happy, since Buffy's dead, but she can't help it. She was ecstatic when he gave it to her, even in the shadow of another apocalypse.

Never having been one for jewelry, Anya is enraptured by this shiny gold band and its small diamond. Really, it's what the ring represents that makes her weep with joy when the others weep in sorrow.

Xander loves her; they will always be together.
