Where she can feel a thing

Logan knows he wasn’t even second best in Lilly’s eyes -- he always came in third behind Duncan and Veronica. But he’d tried to protect her, tried to do the right thing, as much as he knew how, anyway, which wasn’t much. Wasn’t enough.

Now Lilly’s dead, and Veronica walks around like a shadow, a living ghost. Her eyes are blank, and he wonders why she doesn’t seem to feel the same pain he’s in. Wonders what he can do to make her feel it with him.

As he pushes inside her, he wonders if she’ll ever feel anything at all.
