Summary: Written for the hp100 owls challenge

Every day the black-haired boy wrote to the brown-haired boy. Every day, the brown-haired boy sent the letter back, unread.

It was enough to make an owl testy. Clytie wouldn't normally allow her daily burden to be refused so easily, but the brown-haired boy was different. He was a predator, and she, prey.

But she'd had enough of his recalcitrance. It made her master sad when the letters came back, and she hated it.

That day, Clytie scratched and nipped the brown-haired boy's hands until he took the letter, read it, responded.

The black-haired boy's joy was worth the danger.
