I hope you comprehend how this had to happen. Now I’m the smartest, most popular, richest man ever. And I have all I’ve ever wanted, including Buffy.

Not the way you think. I have more than enough of that, not that I’m complaining. But now we stand together, the smell of flowers and fresh dirt mingling with her sweat and perfume, and for the first time in my life I’m happy. I have purpose. A vampire is rising and she follows my lead and I feel nothing but joy. This had to be. I hope you get that.
