Some writers confuse authenticity, which they ought always to aim at, with originality, which they should never bother about.

What's New?

May 2001

31 May 2001

Some new links have been added, and a few more recommendations.

29 May 2001

C'est Victoire. Well, that's about as French as I get. I added The Space Between, a short fic where Rogue contemplates touch.

28 May 2001

Pete here. I added the first part of A Matter Of Faith, which has Xander and Willow talking about what happened during The Zeppo, and Call Waiting 7, wherein Wesley gets an offer from a man in a bar. Not that kind of offer, you sickos!

Victoria here. I added The Envious Moon, a short fic inspired by the confluence of Logan, Shakespeare and Bono in my head. Don't ask. It's better not to know. *g* And check out the gorgeous graphic Deejay made for me. She's very talented, no? You can see more of her work at Wolverine & Rogue.com, in the artworks section. Quite inspirational.

As for Unfit for Society, you may have noticed we're now part of Sonja Marie's Buffy the Vampire Slayer webring. We've also added a couple of fic recs and a link or two -- mainly West Wing related, but I think there's a new X-Files story recommendation, too.

Oh, and there's a new link on the Resources page - The Eclectic Writer - lots of informative articles to check out.

Happy Anniversary, Marguerite & Anthony!

26 May 2001

Once more, 'tis I, Victoria. I added In Between Days, #6 in the All of Heaven Away series. That would be Hank's point of view on the realignment of the couples at the mansion. Hank deserves to get himself a little sumpin' sumpin', don't you think? I'm working on that.

Pete Here. I added two stories to my fiction page. Movie Night is about Xander and Anya watching a movie together, and Call Waiting 6 has Gunn meeting someone you wouldn't expect him to be talking to. I also added a great story by Danii to the recommendations page.

24 May 2001

Victoria here. I added Love Will Tear Us Apart , #5 in the All of Heaven Away series. As a little bonus, I've also put up a page with the lyrics to the songs that lend their titles to each of the stories in the series, as well as a brief timeline. You can check it out here.

And, of course, I'm always adding on to Peeps & Roaches *g* - can't keep my mouth shut for long.

21 May 2001

Victoria here. I added Never Have I... Every Damn Time #6 -- Logan/Rogue smut. Check out the preceding entries in the series at the Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive. I also added some more poetry.

There are a couple of new fic recs, and, in the Resources for Writers section, we've linked to a couple of new articles on beta reading. Plus, check out Peeps & Roaches. I've always got something to say, even if the others are conspicuously silent.

19 May 2001

Meg added the following stories to her website: Burning, Call Waiting Five, Reincarnation Part 1, Supplanter, and Damsel in Distress. She's been a busy little mite, eh?. She promises she's working on the next parts of her unfinished works, not just starting new things and abandoning the old. But you might want to give her a nudge in the right direction. She lives for feedback.

16 May 2001

We've added some more West Wing recommendations and in the Resources for Writers area there's a new link to another author's page that gives the scoop on how his (and someone else's) story was beta read. Very interesting.

Peeps & Roaches is another new feature here. It's just our rants and raves. Not much there yet, but I'm known for being angry, hostile and cynical (all my personality tests come out that way), so I'm sure I'll be adding to it quite frequently. Why Peeps & Roaches? Well, you should just look at it and see.

Meg has added Call Waiting Four and She's Back and It's About Time Part III to Legendary Blather.

13 May 2001

The Muse's Fool has relocated! I'm finally all moved in! Woohoo!

We've added some more links, and a recommendation or two we think you'll enjoy. There's also some new stuff in the Resources for Writers area -- check 'em out and let us know if they're helpful. We just want to keep improving this place.

And Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there! All my love to mom, Marguerite, Helen, Dot, Jen, and Meg!

12 May 2001

We've added some more links, and a recommendation or two we think you'll enjoy.

I've added two stories to The Muse's Fool: 32 Flavors -- can you believe I'm writing sympathetic!Jean fic now? I can't either <g> -- and Raining In Baltimore, in which Rogue has several conversations with Logan's answering machine. Yeah, songfic. I don't know what's up with that.

11 May 2001

Vic here. Wanted to let you know we've added some more links, including one to the Splendiferous Terri's new site (home of the Eighteens, Alter-Eighteens and With Marie series), and a few more recommendations we think you'll enjoy. Also added a new resource to the resources section -- so go, read!

7 May 2001

Vic here. Wanted to let you know that Meg has added Salad Days, a slice-of-life Buffyfic; Part I of The Watcher and the Witch, in which things go a little...awry for the gang; and Stay Tuned to this Station, a Dr. Who fic that I, non-Whoovian [is that what you lot call yourselves?] that I am, cannot describe.

I've added In the Service of the Queen, in which Angel gets kidnapped and Wesley, Gunn and Cordelia have to save him.

4 May 2001

Victoria added Toothpaste, a story for which there is no excuse - it's pure smutty silliness. Rogue contemplates the myriad uses of this miraculous substance.

2 May 2001

We are very happy to announce that we've added something new to the Resources for Writers page. We've put together something called The Beta Process, which shows how one of Victoria's stories went from first to final draft, with everyone's help and comments. Please check it out and let us know what you think -- is your beta process similar? Diametrically opposed? We're always interested in learning more about how other people write, so please, drop us a line sometime at unfitforsociety@unfitforsociety.net.

And in other news, Victoria added Attack of the Killer Peeps VII: The Seventh Peep. It seems that even after Easter is over, those peeps are still causing trouble for the X-Men!

Pete here. First of all, the only dirty liar around here is Vic. <Vic says: Bah!> The woman hates Kajagoogoo - need I say more about her lack of character? I thought not. <Vic says: I may lack character, but I have excellent musical taste. And I'm not too shy to admit it!>

We've actually got some X-Files stuff up on the links and fic recommendations pages! I'm hoping to get a lot more up in the relatively near future, but what's there will make for a good starting point.

1 May 2001

Pete here. I've only got a second - Vic hates it when someone else posts here in the What's New section. The woman's insane, I tell ya! Stay away from her if you value your lives!!

Anyway, I've got a new story up on my fiction page, Homecoming. It's the result of my attempts to cater to Jen's angst addiction, so it's not quite so mushy-happy as most of my stories.

Vic here. Pete is a dirty liar! I keep telling him to write something here, but no! And he finally does and this is the thanks I get. Sheesh. <g>

Anyhow, got some new Recommendations for you, a couple of new West Wing links and I added Off the Corner and Attack of the Killer Peeps VI: Martha Stewart Strikes Back to The Muse's Fool.

Happy Birthday, Sean!
